You want news?

Monday, June 18th, 2007

I am sure you have been sitting over there wondering, “What the hell has been going on with those Pensamplivox kids. I haven’t heard a peep out of them for a bit.” Well, we are so damn busy that I barely have time to write this and so I will give it to you in short bursts:

Century Rocket Building are working on mixes for the new 4-song EP. We went in last week to get some more work done when the tape machine at Reelsounds took a big analog crap. Once she’s fixed up nice, we’ll get back on it and post some tasty bits for you to hear.

*joesepi* has been going through some restructuring of its staff, now on an operational basis with the help Mr. James Ellis MacGregor temporarily on bass duties, and some local cats filling in on keyboards. We are still working through recent recordings with the plan of putting out an album in the Fall. We are also running the archive 4-track recordings of yesteryear through the super masterer machine for a 4CD Sack Set release, also looking like Fall. In the meantime, we are busting our ass in preparation for a possible upcoming show that could be sorta big.

Bearhawk has Killer Wails done and mastered; we are working on the graphics and then sending it off to the shipping plant. It sounds great and all will love it for sure.

Bookoos are mixing their recent recordings.

And Rang went in for a recording weekend a bit ago. I am told the end result rocks but have been deprived of knowing for sure.

A Vast Amount of Scientific Data (previously known as Dog Hospital Fragrance) has their first show on July 14, if you don’t count the wedding gigs they have lined up.

And Hesterman were on Chic-A-Go-Go. I was there and danced my ass off!

Ham and Egger is getting married and we will all make appearances: musical and otherwise.

The Recordings Go On…

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

Reelsounds' Angela is hotFirst off, we have been working on a new Bearhawk record which has had several names associated with it (Softhawk, Softshell, Gentle Bear) but I think the album may be tentatively entitled, Killer Wails. This recording has taken a new form for the Hawk, with D going in and recording a bunch of songs and filling it out from there. For this recording, Mouse is playing drums (and recording/mixing); Jim is playing bass, Jon and I are playing guitar and we have had a few guest appearances on other instruments. We have recently made some rough, but almost final mixes and I have posted two (Archae Bacteria and Old Hotel) to the Bearhawk MySpace page. And speaking of the Bearhawk MySpace page, I have also filled it out a bit with some photos of members, contributors and friends.

Promo boys - CRBSecondly, Century Rocket Building has been working on some recordings when we find the time between other projects, parties and the usual family/life stuff. I just put down a bunch of guitar the night before last up at Reelsounds and we are getting excited about the progress. I still need to do some guitar housecleaning over there and also add some vox, but from there we will probably sit with some rough mixes and start to flesh out some ideas to make these already great songs even better. Some sounds will be posted forthcoming. (Oh yeah, and I have posted a recent photo shoot we did trying to get a promo shot together.)

And as previously mentioned, we have a new mix for Dear Jessica from the *joesepi* rock band and we are hoping to continue putting parts down and wrapping up these sessions before the end of the year.
